Afternoon at Bearfence

OVERVIEW

If your looking for a fun afternoon hike with amazing 360º views to conclude your long week, then this hike is for you!! I love this hike for its quick summit, fun but not strenuous rock scramble, and gorgeous views. Its just around a mile, so not super long and a pretty easy hike, but I love it so much. Lauren and I have to be back by 5, so we probably won’t be able to stay long enough to see the sunset, but it will be a fun and beautiful hike either way!

Heres the Plan:
1:30 PM: Leave grounds
2:30 PM: Get to the trailhead and start hiking
3:00 PM: Get to top of the rocks and enjoy the views
3:30 PM: Head back down (may be earlier/later depending on how everyones feeling)
4:00 PM: Head back to Grounds
5:00: Get back to Echols! (Latest)

What to bring:
– LAYERS!!! It gets cold and windy at the top so be prepared
– Shoes that you feel comfortable hiking in
– Water/Snacks to eat at the summit!
