Beginner/Intermediate Mountain Biking – Walnut Creek Wonderland

OVERVIEW

CALLING ALL SHRED LOVERS:

Walnut Creek beckons. The sensational trails and azure (~greyish) waters of the ‘nut await all of those in favor of ditching Grounds this Friday afternoon. Come join Zakey Faieq (George Shredington) and I (Mikhail Gorbashred) as we take the fleet out for a spin.

THE PLAN:
We’ll meet at the side entrance of the Echols dorm (closest to O’Hill) to load up the bikes and roll out at around 4:30pm. We’ll drive 20 minutes to Walnut Creek Park (tunes included), shred for an around an hour or so, perhaps take a dip in the lake (Zakey did this last week – the water was splendid, so I hear) and then head back. Estimated return time is around 7:30 pm.

If you’ve already been on a beginner trip or two and you’re comfortable on a mountain bike (noble steed), then this trip is for you!
If you don’t have your own mountain bike or helmet, let me know on the trip questionnaire and I’ll try to secure you a club bike/helmet. Everyone will be waitlisted for this trip initially and depending on club bike availability and skill level, individuals will be taken off the waitlist accordingly.
The other shred-master of the club, Garrett Tanner (Thomas Shredison), is coming along with a later trip, so we’ve got plenty of transportation space for the bikes and people – no drivers needed.

What to Bring:
– Pack to hold water
– Mountain Bike (if you have it)
– Helmet (if you have it)
– 1-2L of Water
– Snacks to munch upon (bugles anyone?)
– Swimsuit if you feel like cleansing yourself after riding

– Helmets (if needed)
