Need a study break? Ready to celebrate the end of the semester? Tired of cleaning cerebral fluid from your ears as you stare mindlessly into a computer screen? The only cure is a good ole walk in the woods.

This Sunday is gonna be in the 50s and sunny, so it’ll be a great day to romp around the most famous hike in Shenandoah. Old Rag is 8 miles with 2,500 ft of elevation change and a super fun rock scramble to the summit. Full details here: http://www.hikingupward.com/SNP/OldRag/

As many of you know, I’m an aficionado of beverages on hikes, and I’m sure your caffeine addictions are maxing out these days, so I’ll be bringing my stove and we can heat up water for tea or cider or coffee or mate. I have know I idea what a crumpet is – just put it on there because it sounded cool. Don’t count on there being crumpets. Sorry.

You bring:
– 2L Water
– Packed lunch
– Sturdy boots or shoes

I can fit 5 people in my car, but if another driver signs up more people can come. Drivers get waitlist preference and get reimbursed plus a 30% tip! I have an SNP park pass which will cover one car – if an additional car comes we’ll have to divide the $15 fee amongst everyone – so I’ll just put a $3 fee down.
