Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Chimney Rock
Riprap Trailhead, Grottoes, VA, USA
Hey guys, let’s hike Chimney Rock in Shenandoah! This moderate 3.4 mile out-and-back hike leads to a gorge overlooking the one-and-only Chimney Rock in all its geologic glory. There should be some magnificent views along the way and incredible fall foliage provided by the Blue-Ridge Mountains. Maybe if we’re lucky we’ll even come across some cute Shenandoah critters getting ready for hibernation (I’m hoping to spot a black bear!). The weather looks great on Friday, but it will be chilly so bring layers! If you feel like you need a fall break part 2, this hike is for you! 🙂
Plan:
1:30 leave Charlottesville
2:30 arrive at trailhead
5:45 leave trailhead
6:45 back in Cville
To Bring:
Sturdy hiking shoes
Layers- it will be chilly!
Water
Snaccs
$5 or SNP pass
