Weather is supposed to be near 40 degrees, but sunny…lets get outside and climb.
Heading to Franklin WVA, Riversbend crag on Friday to climb some wonderful blue and white limestone as opposed to sandstone / limestone of the main area. The easiest route at the bend is 5.9…so must limit the trip to persons who can climb 5.9 cleanly (there is only one that I am familiar with, difficultly goes up from there)…plan on leaving around 8, be on the rock by 10. home by 7:30 (give or take dinner plans while on the trip). As this is a day trip, club will pick up gas, you must provide food and water. If you need gear, make sure to visit the gear room….
2 options to get across the river…wear shorts and tevas (knee deep water but cold) or take the tyrolean…its up to you. Bring gloves for the tyrolean if you plan to do that. Lowes also sells some cheap metal pulleys for about 6 or 7 bucks which are worth having and will expedite the river crossing. Let me know if you have questions.
