Walnut Creek Park
If you’re looking for a greater culinary adventure than going out to eat at the Corner this might be the adventure for you. We’ll head out to Walnut Creek a couple hours before the Creekathon, learn how to safely identify and gather some select wild edible plants and then prepare a couple dishes before the picnic starts, using a cooking grill and wood fire.
We’ll make rice wrapped in wild grape leaves, wildflower fritters, and maybe a small salad using recipes from a class on wild edibles I’ve taken several times. Bring a plastic bag for collecting plants if you can. If not I have plenty!
