Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
The Priest
The weather Friday looks perfect and the leaves are stunning, so lets get out and hike! The Priest is a challenging 8.6 mile hike (out and back). It’s 3,000 feet in elevation gain. The incredible view at the top faces west, so it should be an ideal sunset hike. This way you don’t have to wake up crazy early, and can still have your Friday evening adventures back in Charlottesville. The times below are an estimate, and I tried to build in extra time.

The plan:
Leave Echols at 2 PM
Arrive at the trailhead at 3 PM
Watch the sunset at 6:12 PM
Depart back to school at 8:30 PM
Arrive back at school at 9:30 PM
What you need:
-sturdy shoes
-2L of water
-dinner/snacks
-phone/camera (for the fantastic views!)
-headlamp and/or flashlight for the walk back down
DRIVERS NEEDED!
-I can only take 4 people until we have more drivers!
-drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas +50% tip!
-drivers need to show up to Echols with a full tank of gas!
