I want to see something other than a cloud – Humpback sunrise

OVERVIEW

Howdy

Unfortunately both times I’ve hiked Humpback we’ve been totally stuck in the fog. So I’m gonna lead Humpback hikes until I get a good one. For those who haven’t done Humpback, it’s wicked short (under a mile to the top) and has great views (or at least so I’ve heard). This hike will be pretty chill, but it is fairly steep so make sure you’re up for that.

Schedule:
5:15 – Meet at corner of Echols dorm
5:25 – Leave (no later then 525 so don’t be late)
6:00 – Arrive at trailhead
6:30 – Summit
6:48 – The sun will (hopefully) rise
6:49 – If sun does not rise, Aztec sacrifice will follow
7:00 – Start hiking back to the car
7:30 – Leave for cville
8:05 – Arrive on grounds

What you need:
– Hiking boots or something sturdy
– Layers – be able to strip down to not sweat too much on the way up and bundle up to watch the sunrise
– Water – a liter should be fine
– Mask for the car ride

DRIVERS NEEDED!!!!
– Club reimburses $$ for gas (+50% tip), MUST arrive with full tank of gas
– Drivers receive priority off of the waitlist
