OVERVIEW

Join me for an Intermediate-Advanced Kayaking daytrip somewhere within a 4 hour radius of Cville. The rain hasn’t started yet, and I’m looking for some cooperation from Mother Nature before picking venue(s).
TIMES/PLAN:
I’m intending for this to be a daytrip, but we could also throw in a night of camping if desired, and/or (if we end up on the “Lower James” ) a night of watching local kayaker films in Richmond after we get off the river at the 6th Annual Retro Video Day (FB it). There’s no solid depart/return times so put your time constraints in the Q&A and also if there’s any specific river’s you’d like to paddle, if it ends up being something local we’ll prob leave a little later than the posted time and get back earlier – I’ll communicate the plan the night before. Pay attention to your email once the signup deadline passes.
DISCLAIMER/LEGAL:
I am NOT “leading” any river trips, I am only coordinating some transportation and logistics. YOU are responsible for your own safety and the activities you choose to participate in while on this trip. Additionally, all participants must have read and must agree to abide by the American Whitewater Safety Code http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Wiki/safety:start? for the duration of the trip.
All who participate on this trip agree to participate as “Common Adventurers”.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Everyone gets waitlisted till I screen your skills, which should include: Reliable combat roll and/or stellar bracing/leaning skills such that you don’t have to roll. Remember the water is now COLD – which reduces most peoples patience for hanging out upside, and thus out of boat experiences can become more consequential!
CLUB PROVIDES: Boats & Gear if you need them, including limited selection of cold water gear, camp gear and fees, and Ga$ for drivers (only $100/vehicle now).
YOU PROVIDE: Any paddling gear you already have, warm non-cotton layers, food for on/off the river, or $ to procure it, rain dances, supplemental gas funds in case we go over $100/vehicle.
