Old Rag Day Hike!

OVERVIEW

Saturday is looking nice and clear, so lets get out and enjoy some cool fall weather. I’ve never been to Old Rag before but I’ve heard its amazing and has one of the most beautiful overlooks in the Shenandoah!

Old Rag is one of the most popular hikes in our region. It is an 8 mile loop with a spectacular rock scramble and views at the top. We should be able to cover the distance in about 4 hours +some extra time for lunch at the top.

What to bring:
-$8.00 entrance fee*
-Warm clothing (it might be a little chilly)
-2 liters of water
-Lunch
-Camera
-Enthusiasm

*The entrance fee will be waived if someone in our group has a park pass!

Keep in mind, you will be sliding against abrasive, sometimes slimy rock at some points, so don’t wear your favorite jeans. Also, sturdy, comfy shoes are a must.

I don’t have a car so drivers will get priority off of the waitlist! Everyone will be waitlisted at first and once we get drivers I will start letting people into the trip.
