Pre Thanksgiving Sport Climbing Workout at the Red River Gorge

Its that time of the year again….what time you might ask?…well its time to clip some bolts at the red river gorge pre thanksgiving. What is the red river gorge? Possibly one of the best endurance sport crags in the US….long jug hauls, all clean falls that sort of stuff.

Plan on leaving Friday morning, getting to the red around 2:30ish, climb till dark friday. Climb Sat, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and half day wednesday getting back to town around 7.

There has been a cabin reserved that sleeps 6 total. Club pays 6 per night per person for non-camping accomidations, so however many people go the cost per night will drop…per night cabin fee is $99.00 so if we get six the cost per night $10.50 (not a bad deal to stay in a warm room)

What you will need. Climbing gear (duh), sleeping gear, utensils, clothes and anything else to keep you warm and comfortable as it can be very cold at time.

Will keep this as an intermediate trip to the red (5.10 and up clean on lead, 5.11 TR). If you need gear, make sure you get it from the gear room prior to leaving. I will waitlist everybody until i know how many cars are going.
