Reed’s Creek on Fleek, daf*q??? (Intermediate Outdoor Sport Climbing)

For those that don’t understand the reference:

Let’s get outside and on some rocks in West Virginia! Reed’s Creek is a really fun crag just a couple hours from cville with a variety of bolted climbing routes for sport climbers of all levels (grades 5.6-5.12). Come check it out with us for a day of epic climbs, crag beverages and chalked-up fist bumps!

I am listing this as an “intermediate” climbing trip but I invite anybody with any rope-climbing experience to sign up. For trip logistical purposes, those with some top-rope and lead belay experience will get priority off of the waitlist. Depending on everyone’s level of experience and timing there may be opportunities for people to learn to lead climb, lead belay and clean sport routes if they’re interested!!!

We’ll meet at echols at 8:00 am, drive about 2 hrs to Reed’s Creek, and climb until around 4-5 pm. We’ll aim to be back no later than 7.

What to bring:
– Warm Clothes (and hot hands!)
– Lunch/snacks
– Harness (in gear room)
– Climbing shoes (in gear room)
– Climbing helmet (in gear room)
– Water (2L)
– Climbing chalk if you have it
-Your badass girlboss best attitude

What we’ll bring:
– Climbing ropes
– Additional climbing gear
– ~expertise~

DRIVERS NEEDED!
-drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas +50% tip!
-drivers need to show up to Echols with a full tank of gas!
