OVERVIEW

Are you still in c’ville this summer? Do you want to try your hand at mountain biking? Do you want to shred this weekend, and just haven’t realized it yet? Do you live the ride or die lifestyle?

If you have answered yes to one or all of these questions then this is the trip for you!

I am going to Preddy Creek to do some mountain biking this weekend, and I want you to come with me! Preddy Creek, or known colloquially as Shreddy Preddy, is a great park with incredible trails for riders of all skill levels. They have a nice mix of short easy climbs and mildly technical descents that make for a great ride regardless of how good you are. If you have never been mountain biking/have very little experience this is a great place to start. There is an ‘Advanced loop’ built just for mountain biking but we can see how everyone is feeling before the venture down that path.

When:
Sunday June 19th, 2016 from 9am to ~ 1pm (leaving time may vary based on people in the group/group size)

Where:
Preddy Creek Park
We will meet at Echols at 8.45AM and leave for Preddy by 9AM

What:
Beautiful and flowy mountain bike trails that will tickle the teeny tiny hairs on the back of your neck from pure enjoyment.
We will start out moving slowly on the trails, just getting a feel for trail riding/shifting/thinking on a mountain bike then we will probably break off into groups and ride at our own pace around the park. The park isn’t very large so you will never be more than 3-4 miles from the parking lot.

What you’ll need:
-Bike/helmet
-Water (at least 1L, it is supposed to in the 80s that day so maybe even more)
-Sunscreen/bug spray (if you’re into that kinda thing)
-Snacks (for post/during ride munching)
-Bag to carry water/snacks
-Exercise clothing (synthetics) since you’ll probably break a sweat
-Shoes that can get wet/muddy/dirty and have reasonable grip

The club can provide a bike and a helmet, but these supplies are first come/first serve.

I have a truck that can take 4 additional people and lots of bike, so drivers/cars get priority! Gas is reimbursed over the summer, but no tip unfortunately.

Ride or die,
Thomas Shredison
