Stone Fort Bouldering Competition – Triple Crown Series

OVERVIEW

Stone Fort Triple Crown Bouldering Competition is happening on Saturday, October 25th in Stonefort, TN.

“The goal of Triple Crown is two-fold. First and foremost, the mission is to raise funds for two organizations dedicated to maintaining climbers’ access: the Southeastern Climbers’ Coalition and The Carolina Climbers’ Coalition. These two organizations have been instrumental in the acquisition of land for the climbing community, in a region that is riddled with access issues. Secondly, this unique event will once again provide a tremendous opportunity for vendors to promote the sport of bouldering, which has quickly become the focus of the ever growing climbing community.”

Rough plan is leave Friday morning (flexible) (this is about an 8 hour drive), climb/comp on Saturday (weather permitting), drive back Sunday. Bring homework just in case the comp gets pushed back to Sunday because we’ll be getting back nice and late if that’s the case. We will be camping at the boulder field.

Entrance into the comp is $50. This includes a shirt, and everyone usually walks away with tons of swag. More importantly, proceeds go to a good cause. The comp is friendly to everyone from beginner to advanced and even those of you who’ve achieved pro status.

you provide:
-climbing shoes,
-warm clothes
-chalk bag/chalk,
-food/snacks,
-entrance fee/ticket,
-crash pad if you have one
-Cash (for dinner Saturday at the comp and raffle tickets if you want to participate)
-Camping gear you have

Club will provide:
-up to 150$ gas money per vehicle, (up to 10$ tip for drivers) As this is a long drive… any additional gas funds may need to be split evenly among the riders).
-Camping fees up to 10$ per person/night.
-Climbing/camping gear to check out

Ride details will be determined closer to the event. I am planning on leaving around noon (potentially earlier) Friday as this is a long drive. Everyone will be wait-listed till other drivers sign up. Indicate desired departure times and if there is a later car leaving we will try and accommodate. With all of the crash pads that typically need to fit, we will need everyone to coordinate packing. We will also try to coordinate plans with the climbing team if necessary. We leave to return Sunday morning.

(The $20 fee is only listed in case fuel expenses is not fully covered, i.e. come prepared to chip in just in case. The number of attendees will be flexible, but primarily determined by drivers and space).
