Upper Hawksbill Trail, Luray, VA 22835 (~2 hour drive one-way)
The Upper Hawksbill Trail is a moderate 2.2 mile route to the summit of Hawksbill- the highest point in Shenandoah National Park, and back (~1.5 hour total duration). You can expect plenty of wildlife/bird watching/woods/VIEWS<3. The trail begins at the Upper Hawksbill parking area at milepost 46.7 and leads up to the summit. The views from the summit are well worth the hike, and include commanding views of Betty's Rock to the northeast, Old Rag Mountain to the east, and the Shenandoah Valley to the west.
