OVERVIEW

You are cordially invited to the culminating swagger-ridden ODC social event of the semester… It is our tricentennial Creek-a-Thon!

WHAT IS CREEKATHON?

Creekathon is our club-wide Potluck gathering held at the illustrious, beauteous Walnut Creek park (~20 minutes outside of Cville). Though there will be side trips for things like disc golf, mountain biking, foraging, general frolicking about (such fun!!!), slack-lining, etc. occurring earlier/later, the main event will run from 12-4pm or so with some drivers surely heading out late and others leaving early.

“Creek-a-thon has always been a place where the shrederonis and shrederinas can coalesce and form fellowships with the shredless. At the end of the day, we are all share a similitude of being shredders.” -Thomas Shredison, 1923

You may recall that my position (PBR/Social Chair) stands for Potlucks, Bonfires, and Ragers. Creekathon will be potluck galore!

Potluck assignments (by first letter of last name):
A-D: beverages
E-K: appetizers, chips & other snacky things
L-R: fruit & veggies
S-Z: desserts

The Club will be providing burgers (& veggie burgers) and hot dogs, along with other random snacks idrk!!

This is a super relaxed event– please come, even if you’ve never been on a trip before! Expect to spend time eatin’ good food, hangin’ in hammocks, meetin’ friends new and old, baskin’ in the resplendent natural surroundings, chattin’ about bygone adventures, and discussin’ plans for new ones. This will be a much more ‘lax setting than our parties.

WE NEED TRIP LEADERS AND DRIVERS.

Unlike NRGE, it is totally cool to join this main adventure without also joining a side-adventure. However it’s always a good time to spice up your Creekathon with some fun outdoorsy stuff on the side. In order for this to happen we need trip leaders!! Talk to Sam Clifford Clinard (src7gd@virginia.edu) or Scotty “Special Sauce” Gilb (sg4fc@virginia.edu) if you need trip ideas.

DRIVERS: We need you. Sign up. It’s fun. If you’re planning on going to Walnut Creek fro the start, please be at Echols side door at 11:45!!!

There is no max number of homies. We want you all to come!! Even if you’ve never been on a trip before!! PLEASE COME WE LOVE YOU.

Much love,
The ever-enthusiastic Officer ASAP
