A 2-day-long Wilderness First Aid course, from 8am to 6:00 or 6:30pm each day. Please see the internet link for details. Successful completion gets you a 2-year certification. The club is offering a $100 discount (that’s 71% off!!!) off the course fee if you complete the class successfully *and* agree to lead a club adventure this semester. We need more trip leaders, and it would be great if they have this training. **NOTE** When you sign up for this adventure, you immediately will receive a very important email detailing additional steps required to sign up for this course. Outdoors at UVa provides:
IF you pledge, on your honor as a UVa student, that you will lead at least one adventure between February 10th and April 30th, AND you complete the course and pass the certification test (97 percent of everyone passes it), THEN the club will reimburse you $100. The club needs more trip leaders, and it is best if they have the skills this workshop offers.
You must bring:
The course fee is $140 per person, BUT: see “Things UVa Outdoors will provide.” Complete the conditions and you get $100 of your $140 back. Quite an awesome deal! Since this is such a great deal, club bux may not be used. In addition, bring lunch & snacks each day.
