How about some after work fun on the downtown-Richmond section of the James? This 3.5 mile section offers a white water roller coaster ride through class 2/3 rapids and 1 class 4. We’ll start from Reedy Creek at around 5:30, warm up at ‘first break’ for a little while, run ‘Hollywood’ (class 4) once or twice, then stop at pipeline for a while and take out at around 8. We’ll cool down with some dinner at Legends and be back on the road by 10, putting us home at around 11. Please do not sign up unless you have paddled at least class 3 rapids and can roll in flat water. The club has all the gear you’ll need. Don’t forget you’re swimwear and towel, footwear that can get wet (river shoes/booties, aqua socks, or sandles that aren’t bulky work best), water, snacks, change of clothes, and money and ID for Legends.
