Leg 1 of Summer: Hawaii?

OVERVIEW

The unlying Internet tells me Hawaii beckons at the mere cost of a 680 dollar flight from Dulles. I’ve wanted to go for a while, so this May I think I might.

My family has old friend out there – a cool and funny couple who are happy in the way of old people ironically satisfied with the turns of their life. (After all, they live in Hawaii…) We might could stay with them a night or few, so understandably the group size can’t be too big. And then we’ll trapze around an island or three.

I want to camp – a lot – in the warm of long beaches and steamy volcanoes and clear-star nights (Volcano NP). Other possible activities include learning to surf right, hiking until you earn the ultra-gratifying feeling of a great calf-stretch, hang gliding, snorkeling, and so on. I expect to the costs for this cool stuff to push the trip price up some. (I can only afford it because I scrapped plans for a more expensive trip.) So please expect to be flexible beyond the 680.

We can borrow club gear, as long as we bring it all back this time.

I made the attendee limit 1 because I just want to go by myself, but to show everyone how sweet an idea it is.
No actually, rather than signing up, e-mail me if you are interested and capable of committing to buying tickets on short notice. I’m not sure how long this price will last. The dates I mentioned are a window – I may have more mainland responsibilities on either end of it, so we’ll “plan” together once I see how seriously people dig the idea. I do want to get at least 2 weeks out of it though.
