Intro to White Water Kayaking – Learning the Basics on Flat Water

OVERVIEW

Lets cool off from this heat wave by learning all about the wonderful sport of white water kayaking. There will not be any white water at Walnut Creek Park, but there will be white water kayaks, all of the associated gear, and calm water. I’ll teach you the very basics you need to know before getting into the real stuff. You will learn how to wet exit, T-rescue, paddle, and have the opportunity to try and possibly get the Eskimo roll.

If you sign up and have taken this class with me before, I may move your name to the waitlist to allow first timers to go. I’m doing another class next week, please do not sign up for both unless you are waitlisted on one and can get on the trip list of the other.

The Club provides the boats, gear, Walnut Creek Park entrance fee.

You should bring: swimwear, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, water, your car if you can drive (I may need folks to carpool).
