OVERVIEW

Sticking around grounds for Fall Break? Leave the reading for later and come play with supermassive rocks on a day hike instead! It’s a good trade.

Devil’s Marbleyard is a little jewel tucked into Arnold’s Valley about 1.5-2 hours away. Although not very well known, it packs spectacular views and scrambles over awesome rock formations.

Begins with a moderate/easy 1.5 mile hike through the woods. Soon enough, you hit the base of Marbleyard — a gargantuan outcrop (100 acres) of granite rock, ranging from tiny stones to house-size boulders. Get slap-happy, because the grade is pretty steep and you’ll need your hands for those rocks. It’s about 0.5 mile scramble to the top. Does that sound pleasing? Sounds delish to me.

You provide: definitely water, lunch, pack to hold your stuffs (need your hands free), appropriate shoes (never ever flip-flops)

Club provides: seat in car, gas moneys

Will add more peeps as drivers sign up. Forecast also looks good for now, but there will be a no-go if rain decides to be a wet blanket.
