Following up on the grrreat success of the Dolly Sods/Spruce Knob, here is another backpacking trip to WV.
Beautiful Cranberry Wilderness area resembles Canadian boreal forest.
We’ll leave on Friday night, camp at the Tea Creek campground, hike on Saturday to a great camping spot with an excellent swimming hole, then hike back to the cars on Sunday. The exact mileage depends on a particular trail we take, the choice will be dictated by weather/trail conditions. Probably 10-11 mi on Sat and 7-8 mi on Sun.
Club provides gas money, breakfast-lunch-dinner Sat and breakfast-lunch on Sun. Bring cash for Fri and Sun dinners on the drive
to/from WV.
Bring sleeping bag/pad, backpack/rain cover, tent, and flashlight (club can provide all of the above). Also bring rain gear, hiking boots/poles,
swimsuit, toiletries, sandals/crocs for camp/stream crossings.
Will expand the group size as drivers sign up.
