Let Go to Humpback…the Leaves Are Sooo Pretty!

OVERVIEW

Hey guys!

So i don’t know about you, but i would like to go to Humpback rocks, maybe eat some dinner, camp out, and watch the sunrise while eating some breakfast!

So the plan is to drive FROM MY HOUSE (departure point) to the parking lot in which we will not be taking the steep hour up trail. Instead we will be on the AT primarily about 6-8 miles to get to the rocks. We can have some dinner, WHICH YOU SHOULD PACK WITH YOU! There is a campsite near the rocks which we can set up tents. As long as we don’t stay up too late, we can wake up for the sunrise or just whenever we decide as a group, and we can hike the short way down. we need to be back to Charlottesville by 945 though.

You will need to go to gear room before this trip if you need gear…it will probably be thursday.

You will provide:
Dinner Friday night
Breakfast if you want it Saturday morning
Gear that you have
A car if you have one
Warm clothes. It will be cold and possibly windy so make sure you have layers, socks, a good warm jacket, a rain jacket.
TOILET PAPER!!!!
********WATER–atleast 2 liters to be safe…there is no place to filter so bring it all with you!
I will bring a jet boil for warm water for tea in the morning if you want it…so bring a tea bag and cup.
bring a whistle, lighter, and knife if you have them (just in case)
Camera if you have it

We provide:
Gear from the gear room: Back pack, head lamp, sleeping bag around 30 degree or less depending on weather, sleeping pad, and tent

The only thing that would stop us is rain!
