OVERVIEW

This weekend is supposed to be sunny and low 70s at the New. This means we are going climbing! Crags will be decided later based on the group.

We leave early Sat morning and drive 3.5 hrs to WV. Quick stop at a gas station for restroom/gas/picking up lunch. We climb all day Sat and show off what we’ve climbed at Pies & Pints (best Pizza ever). We crash at Ray’s on sat night (hot shower provided). There will be breakfast and lunch provided for Sun. Then we climb till around 6pm on Sun and head back home, stopping by Quiznos for dinner. You only pay for Pies & Pints (~$10) and Quiznos(~$6).

Club pays for gas, camping, and food. But bring extra snacks if you want them. If we go to the lake, there are great places to swim so bring your swimsuit. Expect half an hour approach time on rocky trails.

Minimal teaching will happen in this trip but you can always review the skills you know.

Trip Requirements: Know how to tie in and belay a top rope. Able to climb 5.10 solid on top rope. This means you should be able to flash some 5.9s or/and hangdog some 11s. Feel free to sign up and email me if you are unsure whether you can come or not.

You provide: Plenty of water, personal climbing gear you own, money, swimsuit, backpack, warm clothes (chilly in the mountains), towel, toiletries, headlamp, first aid kit, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, approach shoes, sandals, camera, and good karma.

Club Provides: Ga$ money for drivers or ride in a car, any camping/climbing gear you do not own, camping, food, and exciting outdoor adventure.

The gear room does not open till 9am so if you need any climbing/camping gear, you need to go get them yourself from the gear room on Thursday (5pm). If you absolutely cannot make it, let me know so I will pick them up for you.

Drivers and lead climbers/belayers get priority. Please do not sign up for this trip if you can not attend the ENTIRE trip.
