fido field trip pt. 3

OVERVIEW

if you were one of the few folks on fido field trip pt. 2, you are probably wondering why i’m doing this again, but i’m looking at this as redemption. the first trip was such a success, so i’m trying to remodel that again and forget that the last one went down as it did.

now for those who weren’t there, small fry was our dog of the day and he will be a very good boy one day… unfortunately, right now he’s just a young puppy who had a bit of an arousal issue with biting, jumping and humping. have you ever tried hiking down a mountain with a dog relentlessly clinging to your leg, jumping, and unwilling to get off or take correction? 10/10 don’t advise. see picture for evidence. i hope that boy finds a loving home where he can run & play all day long, i really do. he has so much potential!!!

if you’re unfamiliar with this program, it’s a chance for dogs at the caspca to get out of the shelter to exercise and socialize. for round 3 we’re adventuring to turk mountain for a quick 2.5 mile hike in the sun. it’s rated as easy, so all dog lovers are welcome. for more details: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/turk-mountain-trail

the plan:
12:30 AM depart echols
1:30 PM trailhead
2:15 PM photo-shoot of doggo on summit
3:15 PM drive back to cville
arrive home by 4:15 PM

to bring:
– layers!!!
– water
– lunch and/or snacks
– SNP pass (or $5)
– a calm, gentle tone & body language, dog may be very nervous/overwhelmed

DRIVERS & PASSHOLDERS get priority off the waitlist. drivers will be reimbursed + a 50% tip. SNP pass needed for each car (i have 1).
