There’s Nothing Quite as Mesmerizing as the Sky: Stargazing at Big Meadows

OVERVIEW

With the new moon and *theoretically* warmer weather, let’s go stargazing at Big Meadows, one of Virginia’s awesome dark zones. We’ll plan to be out for a good 2 hours for fresh air, friendship, and great views of the sky.

Schedule:
7:30 – Leave Echols
8:45 – Arrive at Big Meadows
10:45 – Head back to Charlottesville
12:00 – Back at Echols

Gear to Bring:
Sleeping pad/blanket for the ground (note that Big Meadows is a meadow with no trees, so hammocks are a no-go)
Jacket/blanket in case it gets cold
Stargazing gear/binoculars (optional)
Water/snack (optional)
