Thursday Humpback sunrise

OVERVIEW

As the sun comes up earlier and earlier, this marks our first sunrise hike of the year where you can probably come and still make your 8am (it would be tight no guarantees). If you have an 8am and wanna play it risky or just don’t have an 8am come to Humpback! It’s a really fun hike with a great sunrise view. For those who haven’t been yet, it’s less than a mile to the top but is somewhat steep so make sure you’re up for that.

Schedule:
5:00 – Meet at corner of Echols dorm
5:05 – Leave
5:40 – Arrive at trailhead
6:10 – Summit
6:23 – Sunrise
6:35 – Start hiking back to the car
7:05 – Leave for cville
7:35 – Arrive on grounds, Bodo’s?

What you need:
– Hiking boots or something sturdy
– Layers – be able to strip down to not sweat too much on the way up and bundle up to watch the sunrise (forecasted low of 33 degrees)
– Water – a liter should be fine

DRIVERS NEEDED!!!!
– Club reimburses for gas (+50% tip), MUST arrive with full tank of gas
– Drivers receive priority off of the waitlist
