We’ll meet at Echols at 10, and then hop in the car and find somewhere to go scavenge/forage/harvest/admire all the nuts our hearts desire.
In case you need any more incentive to go on this trip, here’s a list of nut facts:
when walnuts fall from the tree, they secrete a toxin in the ground so no other plants can grow.
rumor has it that there’s a buried nut haven (NUTLANTIS) in/around Charlottesville.
almonds are actually seeds, and not a tree nut, so you can plant them and grow more nuts!
disclaimer: this isn’t actually a nut trip, i just wanna meet up before the creekathon to adventure. Let’s go nuts at the quarries (we can slackline/throw frisbee/swim if it’s warm enough) and then head to Walnut Creek
I have a car, so only 5 people can come right now, but if other people want to drive then we can have an infinite amount of people (club reimburses for gas). I’ll provide a ride back from the creekathon around 5 or 6.
