Sunrise Humpback Hike Since We Don’t Have Classes on Election Day!

OVERVIEW

Greetings and salutations fellow Outdoorsfolk! Are you getting tired of seeing Humpback Rock hikes on here? We’re not! Join us as we:
– Arrive at the corner of Echol’s dorm to leave promptly at 5:30am (do not be late). We are leaving early so we can make it to the sunrise, claim the best spot, and have some time for breaks on the way up.
– Hike up the mountain.
– Sit on the rocks.
– Look at the sunrise (but not too closely or else our eyes will burn).
– Feel at peace with the world and each other.
– Hike down the mountain.
– Arrive back at the corner of Echol’s at 8:30ish, 9am at the latest (ready to have a super productive rest of your day!)

You might be wondering: “Michael and Alan, what should we bring on this hike?” That’s a great question:
– Flashlight/headlamp (it will be dark because the sun will not have risen). You can check out some gear from the Gear Room.
– Shoes that can get dirty and are comfortable
– Layers (it is cold but can get warm while hiking)
– Water
– Snacks if you want any (Michael is planning on bringing trail mix to share but if you’re allergic to nuts please let him know so he can adjust his snack plans and bring poptarts or something that everyone can enjoy)
– A CAR!!! WE NEED DRIVERS!!! DRIVERS WILL GET PRIORITY AND WILL BE REIMBURSED FOR GAS, AND WILL BE FOREVER LOVED BY ALAN AND MICHAEL!

Humpback is a relatively easy hike, so you don’t need to be a super experienced hiker to join! However, please keep in mind that doing this in the dark on the way up is an added challenge. We will take some breaks as we ascend because we want to. Again, drivers are needed, welcomed, get priority, and will be reimbursed!
