Nevermore: Climbing at Raven’s Roost (Top Rope/Beginner Friendly)

OVERVIEW

Raven’s Roost is a neat little spot a few miles down the Blue Ridge Parkway. It has a good smattering of easier climbs ranging from 5.4 to 5.9. We will plan to climb on top rope, although if anyone wants to come do some trad, we can make that work too (just let me know in the comments). I’ll give priority to at least one person who can top rope belay. Other than that, it’s open to people of all experience levels – beginners welcome.

The plan is to leave grounds around 11am, get there around 11:45, climb from ~noon to sundown (or whenever people get too tired), then return to grounds no later than 6pm.

I have harnesses, a few spare ATCs, an extra helmet, dynamic ropes, and anchor building materials.

You should bring:
– weather-appropriate clothing (dress warmly in layers)
– climbing shoes
– chalk
– any personal climbing gear
