Forest Bouldering? Boulders Foresting? Nature.

OVERVIEW

This trip is intended primarily for novice rock climbers, but I’d like some experienced company. Everyone will be waitlisted to start, so that we have a proper balance of experience, and of course, I’ll need to ensure we have enough drivers. We should just need 1 more driver.

Bouldering is simply rock climbing where the heights achieved are small, and thus there is not a need for a rope. You do, however, want some kind of padding for a landing.

The demonstrator does a terrific job at highlighting how important feet are, and how to conserve energy in your hands (forearms).

The intended destination is effectively the same as where Cole went last weekend, but more in a valley, as opposed to up the ridge. The access is pretty easy, but closer to the boulders, you’ll want shoes with ankle support, or good ankles (or both).
Again, there is ample range in difficulties, so there is plenty that the experienced among us can enjoy alongside the newly introduced.

I’m allowing ample time for us to climb once we get there (it’s roughly an hour away, and I suspect we won’t be out for four hours) Also, because I likely won’t join attendees until the signup deadline has passed, I’ll have anyone who needs gear get it on Saturday, before we leave from Echols. (Please be on time, or even 5 minutes early if you need gear).

> shoes
> chalk (not necessary but kind of necessary)
> snacks
> water (at least one liter – two liters is safer)
> picnic basket that emits good vibes (I’ve got standards when it comes to picnic baskets)
