Climbing at Hidden Rocks: Intermediate Climbing

OVERVIEW

The weather looks so good this weekend, that I figured we needed at least one more trip to be posted.

Hidden rocks is a great place for easy to moderate climbs, many of which can be top roped. There are some harder climbs too, so there is something for everyone. One advantage this place offers is the potential for easy trad climbing – with the potential for mock leading.

I will leave this trip somewhat flexible, but have a preference towards getting some trad climbing in, as well as allowing others to mock lead. When tired of trad, there is the potential for top roping some harder routes. This plan requires attendees be experienced climbers – ability to climb 5.10 cleanly on top rope is strongly preferred.

If there doesn’t seem to be an interest in mock leading trad, and attendees would prefer to top rope, this trip can be open to a much broader skill level, i.e. beginners would be welcome.

I am waitlisting everyone to see the interest levels and the direction this trip will take.

The weather should be in the upper 40s and “mostly sunny” at Hidden Rocks – pretty ideal climbing conditions! As with any activity in the winter, wear layers.

The rocks are ~1.25 hour away. I’m aiming to have us on the rocks during the warmest time of day. You’ll want to bring a lunch with you.

I’ve capped the trip at 5 for now. If we get another driver, I’ll expand the trip.

We will be able to access the gear room Saturday morning, before we depart, if need be.

> water (at least one liter – two liters is safer)
