Hike Old Rag for the Best Views in Old Dominion

OVERVIEW

The hike: Old Rag is fairly strenuously but immensely rewarding day hike. It is about 8-9 miles in length and features some fun rock scrambling. [For Spoilers: http://www.hikingupward.com/SNP/OldRag/]

– You bring: 2 liters of water (no less), lunch+snackage, athletic shoes/boots, all polyester everything, $5 (less if we have enough park passes), fancy camera if you got it

– Drivers: Get off the waitlist first and are compensated for gas.
Destination = Old Rag Mountain Parking Lot, Nethers Road, Etlan, VA 22719

– Shenandoah National Park Pass holders: Get of the waitlist first and earn my eternal admiration. Note: your pass will be reimbursed if used on 4 trips.

– Timeline: promptly meet at the Echols Dorm Half-Wall at 10am, get there by 11:15, hike for 5 hours, then return by 5:30pm.
