Ragged Mountain Reservoir, Charlottesville, VA, USA
This is a beginner level new member priority trip with the main goal of becoming comfortable in a whitewater kayak as you begin the process of learning how to roll (flip the kayak upside down and back up without getting out of the boat). Knowing how to roll a kayak is mandatory if you’re looking to paddle harder whitewater as well as being a fun thing to do and practice in flatwater. The only requirement for this trip is the ability to swim with a PFD. While this trip is good for first time kayakers, any experience level is welcome, come learn to roll, practice your roll, or learn some flatwater freestyle tricks.
