!!THIS IS COMPLEMENTARY TO THE GAULEY FEST MAIN TRIP YOU WILL NOT GET OFF UNLESS YOU ARE ON THE WAITLIST FOR BOTH!!
Have you yearned to touch rock… REAL ROCK!! AND ROPES???? Free yourself from the stinky crowded (yet charming) Slaughter climbing gym and come along with Cam and I for a fun and chill day of beginner/intermediate climbing at Gauley Fest!!! We will be heading to Bubba City to try out some cool beginner-friendly climbs, teach some skills, and hang out at the crag.
We plan to hang at pillow rock for an hour or so to watch folk raft down the Gauley River (including some of our odc friends!!), then mosey on to the crag to climb. The hike down to pillow rock is pretty steep so wear good shoes for hiking!
You do not need any climbing experience to join this trip!! We will be teaching beginner climbers how to do everything from putting on a harness correctly, climbing a toprope route outside, and an overview of toprope belay techniques. Both of us learned to climb through odc and are so excited to pass down skills!
We will save 2 spots on this trip for intermediate climbers who will help us put up routes.
See the main Gauley fest trip for more info on Gauley fest logistics– you must pay the Gauley Fest fee to go to Gauley fest ($55), but this gives you access to the festival.
