Old Rag Mountain Hike

OVERVIEW

The weather is looking good for this weekend, 70s and sunny. Let’s go out to one of the best hikes in VA – Old Rag. This hike has about 2400ft elevation gain, a rock scramble on the way up, and a beautiful 360 degree view at the summit.

Drivers will be prioritized!! Drivers get full reimbursement for gas + 50% tip. I’ll take nine people, given we have enough drivers.

Since we are heading to a national park, those with park passes will be prioritized with drivers.

Game Plan:
Meet at Echol’s at 8am Saturday 9/9. Drive the hour to Old Rag, and hike to the top. We’ll be taking the way with the rock scramble on the way up. The hike is about 8 miles round trip and will take a little less than 6 hours. When we’re done, we’ll head back to Cville: ETA 4pm.

What To Bring:
-good hiking shoes
-WATER
-snacks
-$1 for parking (or park pass if you have one)
-camera?
-layers (windy at the top)
