OVERVIEW

**this is being COLEAD by me (Paige) and Jaelen “Jae” Guerrant who is the resident McAfee Knob expert **

okay, with that out of the way, lets go to mcafee knob and CAMP! We know this is the same time as new river gorge so this trip is for those who still want to get their camping fill in but maybe can’t commit to the three days in the wilderness without studying (sadly). It’s a 8 ~ish~ mile hike total AND we will be camping!! 🙂 we will leave Saturday october 14th at 2:30 outside of Echols and drive 2 hours to the trailhead. we will start our ascent around 4:30 and do the 4 miles up, take some good pix, chill a little, and head down. Once we are back at the car(s), we will head to the Camp! CAMP BETHEL is super close to the trailhead and we will stop there for the night. we will set up tents, hammocks, and all that jazz. we will be bringing a camping stove to make QUESADILLAS for dinner (tortilla, cheese, salsa, beans, some veggies). I will also bring some sort of baked good for dessert. other than that, food is on you! bring snacks for the hike up, extra dinner food that you think you might want, and BREAKFAST for the following morning (bars, bread and jam, granola, think simple). we will jam, tell ghost stories, etc until we retire for the night. the next morning we will wake up at a time that works for everyone. we will then make our descent back to the car and drive 2 hours home. Not adverse to stopping along the way home for a real breakfast somewhere nice.

OKAY SO ~what to bring~
– backpack (big one)
-LOTS OF WATER
-food items mentioned above

-sleeping bag if you have one
-first aid kit/rope/trashbags/other survival gear you may randomly possess

what we will check out from the gear room:
