Breakfast for Dinner!

OVERVIEW

So Jamie is leading a sunrise hike to Bearfence Saturday morning, but honestly I think I’d just feel wrong if I watched the sun come up without watching it go do down first.. ya know? Like how would I know where it came from??

Anyways, Bearfence is one of the only places in the park where you have an unobstructed view of both a sunrise and a sunset, so gosh darnit let’s do’em both.

I also love breakfast food more than I love myself, so I’ll be bringing my stove, a frying pan, and pancake batter! I’ll probably bring chocolate chips, but if you want to bring any other pancake toppings or breakfast foods for yourself or to share with the group, it is highly encouraged!

We’re going to be leaving promptly at 5pm, and any stragglers will absolutely be left behind because we will be already cutting it close to catch the sunset. The hike up is ~.4 miles up with a teeny tiny rock scramble at the end, so should take no time at all to get into prime sun-viewing position. We’ll hope to have the place to ourselves, but if not we’ll just make everyone jealous with our mountain-top breakfast buffet. jk we’ll use our breakfast foods for good and befriend them all! Be back in Cville ~8:30.

important: will cost $5 for parking if we don’t get SNP passes
You bring:
-shenandoah park pass (if you have one)
-sturdy hiking shoes
-light source for hike down (phone light would be fine)
-water + pancake toppings + breakfast foods!
-something warm to wear at the summit (summits are always chilly)
-love of sunsets and food and good company!!

DRIVERS NEEDED!
-drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas +50% tip!
-drivers need to show up to Echols with a full tank of gas!
