Howdy folks!!
Are you a fungi!? Do you like to draw?! Then NRGE Foraging Frolic Footslogging is for you!!! As an amateur forager and artist, and owner of a SE US foraging book, I am ITCHING for a hike to identify forest feasts and draw them in my handy dandy sketchbook! West Virginia offers a plethora of gorgeous flora, come along the Endless Wall Trail and identify all (most) of it!!
Endless Wall Trail is a 5.3-mile out-and-back trail that usually takes 2-2.5 hours to complete, so I am allocating a good amount of time for sketching and identifying! According to AllTrails, the Endless Wall Trail “passes through rich forest, crosses Fern Creek, and zig-zags along the cliff edge.” I’m sensing some pretty powerful vistas are in store.
Plan:
10:00am: meet at campground
10:15am: make our way to the trailhead and commence hiking!
Around 1:30PM: find our way back to the trailhead
Around 1:45PM: back at the campground!
You bring:
-water (lots!) and snacks
-layer (something light if you are prone to getting chilly)
-sunscreen
-hiking boots
I bring:
-SE US foraging book
-paper and pens for those who don’t have them (let me know beforehand!)
-various foraging tools
-cards in case we decide to take a hearts break or something
-first aid kit
Drivers will get priority off the waitlist, and hoping to increase the numbers with more drivers!
Absolutely shaking to frolic in the mountains with everyone!!
