OVERVIEW

**The following adventure was moved to Sunday, 9/30 due to high river level.***

Greetings kayakers! Time to put the skills you learned in an introductory kayaking class, or roll class, to the test in moving water!

Class 1 and 2 rapids are perfect for beginners: They are exhilerating and challenging for beginner paddlers, but fun and relatively safe. And learning how to read and navigate your way through rapids is the most important skill in the sport. That will be our focus on Sunday as we make our way down the river.

THE CLUB PROVIDES: Boat and gear, boat/gear transport

YOU SHOULD BRING: swimwear, towel, change of clothes, snacks, lots of water (the boats have space for a liter bottle – bring that plus extra and come well hydrated)

WHY THE TRIP FEE?: The $10 covers my liability insurance through the American Canoe Association (ACA), the group that I represent as an instructor. I don’t necessarily need the insurance, but to keep my instructor certification I need to lead at least 2 ACA-sponsored trips which means I have to register through them. I’ll explain more after you sign up.

This trip is for those who have learned how to wet exit from a white water kayak, and have experience paddling that wonderful type of water vessel. For the many that have been waitlisted on an intro to kayaking class: I’m terribly sorry you haven’t made it into an intro trip, but there will be more!

**Do NOT sign up for this trip unless you have taken my INTRO TO WHITE WATER KAYAKING class or have similar experience. Please contact me (see below) if you are unsure of your qualifications**

Because I need drivers and I have to choose participants based on prior experience, everyone gets waitlisted. Drivers that have taken my intro class (or similar) get top priority, followed by non-drivers that have the required kayaking experience.

*If you are a kayaker and have your own white water kayak and can transport it, you will be added to the trip list.
