Humpback Sunset Waitlist Relief Hike

Greetings, fellow outdoorsfolk. It is time for us to roll out a waitlist relief hike. this is for u sad saps that have just HAD IT with these gosh darn waitlists. we’ve all been there.

I will waitlist everyone who signs up, and then pick the people who have been waitlisted most often in the past month, or people who have gone on the least number of trips. (ie. if you’ve been waitlisted 11x but have already attended 4 trips as well, i will probably pick the person waitlisted 6x so far who has gone on 0 trips before you). We’re tryna ensure that everyone has the opportunity to attend an ODC trip. If i can let everyone off the waitlist, I will!

For those who haven’t hiked it, Humpback is a short but steep, ~1 mile long, ~800 ft elevation gain. (Great warm up to get you back into outdoorsing shape.)

We will depart from Echols with full tanks of gas at 5:45pm, start hiking around 6:30pm, make it to the top and watch the sunrise from 7-8:00pm, and be back at school by 9:00PM in order to take care of whatever student duties you may have (ie. my German paper i’ve been avoiding at all costs that will be due at midnight).

Bring water, sturdy shoes, headlamp if desired, and a snack/breakfast. Drivers, come with a FULL TANK OF GAS to Echols.
