100 miles of pain and fun! (adv road biking)

OVERVIEW

Hey gamers,

I write to you all from La Guardia airport as I wait 6 hours for a plane to take me back to Charlottesville. It’s been a lovely weekend for me and I hope you can feel the same bliss I do swimming in the frigid waters of Massachusetts Bay for all of 45 seconds. Anyways, a while back me and some fellas attempted to do the Capital trail both ways in a day, but it rained and we weren’t trying to suffer quite that much. But now, we’re gonna try it again!

the plan:
Leave cville at 5am and get to Richmond at 6am ish
Start biking into the sunrise and get warmed up as the day gets brighter
Get to Williamsburg by noon and get some lunch
Bike back to Richmond and drive home (getting there at 7pm at the latest)

You should bring:
A road bike
Helmet
Non-chafing clothes
Snacks
Water
Headlamp or bike light!

I will bring:
All of that stuff above, but for myself
I can maybe carry some things for ppl

Some notes:
I’m not sure how long this will take so that’s why I’m hoping to start so early in the morning. Ideally it will take more like 8 hrs plus breaks here and there. Also, if you do not have a road bike but still feel up for this epic, please reach out and I will see if I can acquire one. I’m planning to take two cars so that we have more flexibility if people end up going different paces but all still want to finish.
