2014 Aca Collegiate Race Series National Championships – Whitewater Kayaking Training Session

OVERVIEW

Are you an undergraduate student who is interested in getting more involved in whitewater kayaking, developing your paddling skills, and representing UVA at this year’s American Canoe Association Collegiate National Championship?

The race is in Dillsboro, NC on March 29th and 30th (you can check out more details at the above link), and we will be holding a few training sessions leading up to it. You will learn everything you’ll need to know, from rolling to navigating whitewater rapids, so paddlers of any levels are welcome! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

This trip is for our first “training session” this Sunday, so if you are interested in seeing if this is something you would like to do or want to just try it out, feel free to sign up – no obligations at this point. As you sign up for this trip, please answer the questions indicated so that I can get a gauge on the general level of the group.

I will be holding a roll/general skill session at the Waynesboro YMCA from 4-6pm this Sunday. The cost will be $10 to use the pool.

THE CLUB PROVIDES: Kayaks, paddles, any other paddling gear- Please indicate when you sign up if you will need to use the club’s gear. Gas $$ is provided for drivers.

YOU PROVIDE: Bathing suit, towel, change of clothes, $$ for food or snacks, any paddling gear you own –but make sure it is clean if we will be going to the YMCA pool!
