2nd Day of Shredmas: Blackrock Sunset

OVERVIEW

On the second day of Shredmas Burke Haywood gave to me, a Blackrock Sunset and a gnartridge in a pear tree.

~ Plan ~
– 3:40: meet at Echols -be there or be an equilateral, equiangular paralellogram
-3:45: drive to trailhead (1 hr ish)
-4:30: lazy stroll up this short hike
-5:16: watch our favorite mass of incandescent gas descend behind the horixon
-5:20 ish: head back to Hooville
-6:30 ish: Home sweet home

~ Gear ~
Stuff to bring:
– $5 or park pass for entry into Shenandoah National Park
– snacko
– h2o
– headlamp (I’m serious about this one)
– WARM CLOTHES!
– extra warm layer for the top
– sturdy shoes

This is a relatively easy hike so it’s good for all skill levels!

~ Waitlist ~
Priority will be given to drivers and people that know how to belay and are down to climb for several hours.

~ Drivers ~
We love your car (driving ability). The club pays for gas and a 50% tip up to $20 if you drive. You also get priority off the waitlist. Show up with a full tank of gas OR ELSE

~ about Shredmas ~
Twas the night before Shredmas and all through the Grounds
Not a student was studying, they were all out of town
They were hiking, trail running, and climbing on rocks
All while wearing their best SmartWool socks

The students were ready to get out and shred,
While each had a headlamp worn bright on their head.
For 12 days of magic they continued to send
And wished that Shredmas wouldn’t come to an end.

But alas, all too soon, it was the very last day,
But the good news was Moab is just two months away!
So remember this, and don’t feel too hurt—
I wish you all a good life full of peace, love, and dirt.
