Shrack
Shrack
New River Gorge National Park, West Virginia, USA
We are going to the new. Oh yes. There are no sharks š
The new river gorge has great climbing. And great rafting. and also great DEEP WATER SOLOING (climbing above deep lake, fall into lake) . The very best in all the land! We shall go and climb AND deep water solo AND raft. Wow, is this the best trip ever? Yeah, probably.
To join this trip you must know how to sport climb*. We will be climbing a range of grades (confident beginnerāintermediate), so everyone should be flexible and joyous.
*I will take one (1) lucky beginner who I will cherish and teach all that I know. If you want to go and learn so much but are a beginner please make your case below.
Here’s my vision:
May 10th:
– 7am- Leave bright and early, climb all day
– 8pm- Go to Ray’s. Sleep
May 11- SPORT CLIMB, EAGERLY AWAIT JOHN’S ARRIVAL
May 12- DEEP WATER SOLO
May 13- WHITEWATER RAFT in the morn, leave in the afternoon, get back to cville at a reasonable hour in the evening.
For non-dws climbing, I have some places i’d like to go to but i am so open to suggestions and we can go wherever probably. For DWS, you must know how to swim extremely well. Same goes for rafting. We have limited spots on the raft for the 13th, so we may have to keep this trip smallerāif a climbing-only non-raft car would want to leave before rafting on the 13th we could expand.

TO PARTICIPATE:
– CLIMBING: Climbing is inherently dangerous. You must know how to confidently, safely, and responsibly lead climb, belay, and clean and understand the risks associated with all of these activities.
– RAFTING & DWS: Everyone should be prepared to swim a strong 50m. While prior rafting experience is a plus, experience swimming in moving water and the ability to participate in your own rescue is all that is required to attend.
Notice ā Whitewater sports are inherently dangerous. We lead trips at a level where we feel confident about our ability to keep people on our trip safe. Your safety depends on you and your honest communication of your abilities and state of being, as well as respect towards any safety advice. Pay attention to the trip talk and be ready to self-rescue.
SO EXCITED.
