OVERVIEW

Hear ye, hear ye:

Thou art hereby cordially invited to an event of the utmost distinction: the dirtbag shindig of the millennium, the hooligan hootenanny to end all hootenannies, the bi-annual gathering of all the finest shredheads, senders, and stoke enthusiasts in all the land — CREEKATHON!!!!!

What in tarnation is this CREEKATHON business, you might be wondering?

Creekathon is a club-wide potluck gathering held at the illustrious and esteemed Walnut Creek, located a mere hop and a skip (~20 mins) from Grounds.

If you’ve never been before, we will have a chilled-out base camp set up from 1:00pm-4:00pm on Sunday September 23rd with food, music, slacklines, instruments, and hammocks galore. Everybody pretty much gets on the trip, provided we have enough drivers sign up.

BUT the picnic/potluck is just the base camp for all sorts of outdoor shenanigans. Leaders set up trips before/ during the cookout at the park or elsewhere (mountain biking, trail run, hiking, kayaking, disc golf, slacklining etc., get creative!). However, it is totally cool to join the main adventure without also joining a side trip. TRIP LEADERS WE NEED YOU! Trips made be lead before, during, or after creekathon noms.

The club will provide a well-balanced meal of all the main food groups: *veggie* burgers, hot dogs, and salty snacks. If you feel so inclined to make a food contribution of your liking, you are encouraged to do so!

TRIP LEADERS AND DRIVERS, (not to sound desperate but) we need you!
Please email the officers if you are seeking inspiration for a potential trip at Walnut Creek. Past adventures have included SUP yoga, beginner mountain biking, trail running, disc golf, kayak roll clinics, etc.

The main carpool will depart from Echols: Brick Wall By Side Door™ at 1pm, drivers please show up at 12:45! Cars will be returning at all times, so fret not about getting home. If you plan on coming separately from the main carpool, STILL JOIN THIS TRIP so we know can have enough food for everyone. Because the park is so close to grounds, gas will NOT be reimbursed. Once at the ‘Nut, trips will leave and return throughout the day.
