Pavillion VIII On The Lawn
Pavillion VIII On The Lawn
The Lawn, Emmet Street South, Charlottesville, VA, USA
We’ve been getting into acro yoga lately and have been really surprised by how fun and accessible it is. For those who aren’t familiar with acro, it’s a form of partner yoga that emphasizes trust in each other, often with poses that involve stretching, communicating, and elevating/being elevated above the ground. The poses can range from simple and easy to quite challenging.
The plan is to meet on the Lawn at 8am, do some warmup movements, and then get into some partner poses. We’ll plan to go until 9:30 or so, but folks can leave early or stay late as needed. No one will be asked to do anything they feel unsafe doing, but we will take turns acting as spotters so people can try new or challenging things. No prior experience necessary – come as you are.
Also, because this is a partner practice, either sign up with someone you feel comfortable with or come willing to make some new friends.
Bring:
– yourself in clothes you can do yoga in
– a partner (optional)
– a yoga mat or towel if you want something between you and the grass (optional)
– water (probs a good idea always)
