Advanced Kayaking: Gauley River

OVERVIEW

This adventure is appropriate for class IV+ kayakers. We will paddle the middle section of the Gauley River at least once Saturday morning and at least once Sunday morning, perhaps running the lower Gauley as well on Sunday. We will camp Friday and Saturday nights.

Please come prepared (clothes and sleeping gear), and feel free to ask me if you have any questions.

Club provides all necessary camping and kayak gear. Please bring money for meals/groceries.

Trip is limited to 5 people but will be expanded as more drivers sign up.

NOTE: we will be at the Gauley during Gauley Fest. If you would like to attend this trip for camping purposes only, you’re welcome to attend (perhaps those kayakers or other outdoor enthusiasts who would otherwise be interested in this trip but do not yet have the skills or experience to run this level of water).
