Howdy
Reddish knob is my favorite spot I’ve ridden in Virginia. Last time we were there, we rode it as a shuttle twice totaling a pleasant 18 miles of mostly downhill biking. This time, Phillip is scheming up something a little more Phillip-y (hence the TBD in the trip title). We’re planning on riding somewhere around 30 miles with 4000′ climbing that likely will include a shuttle at some point but also big climbs without it. This estimate is pretty loose, so just be ready for whatever.

These trails are real VA backcountry descents. They have lots of rocks, are steep in spots, and there might not be cell coverage in some areas. THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER RIDE. Please only sign up if you are comfortable on a mountain bike, and are of intermediate/advanced level. That being said, you don’t need to be a pro to have fun on these trails. If you are comfortable hitting most of the Ohill trails, or have done some biking in GWNF before, then you should be fine. If you have questions/concerns, text Phillip at 571-332-3740.
The plan:
6:30 am – meet at the shrack
6:45 am – drive to GWNF
Shred and generally embrace whatever sufferfest Phillip is dreaming up
TBD but definitely before 6:30pm – arrive back in cville
The Club provides
– Bikes/helmets (if needed)
– Bike racks
– Pumps, tools, etc
You bring
– Enough water
– Food
– Appropriate clothing/footwear
– gloves (optional, if you’re signing up for this trip you probably have a good idea on your preference here)
– sunscreen
Feel free to reach out to myself (617-780-1129) or Phillip (571-332-3740) with questions or concerns
