OVERVIEW

*I won’t be able to make a final call on trail conditions until Sunday morning (fingers crossed!) but if we can’t ride OHill, we’ll set up a little skills course in the backyard and maybe do some Bike repair 101*

Mountain biking is all about attitude – at first glance, a trail might seem full of intimidating or impassable obstacles, but with the right attitude and skills, you can stop seeing them as *obstacles* that impede and instead as *features* that add value and color to the experience.

If your first trip to Preddy or Walnut left you itching for more, this trip is for you. We’ll head up to our beloved home trails of OHill and ride some of the best singletrack in North America.

We’ll have a chance to work on body position for climbing and descending, line choice & trail reading, finding rhythm, and braking technique. By the end of the trip, you’ll be riding the bike, rather than letting it ride you.

There is something on OHill for everyone, so don’t be intimidated, but you’ll get a lot more out of this if you have a few hours of mountain biking under your belt.

You’ll need:
-Athletic clothes (temps will be in the 40’s, so long sleeves and maybe a light fleece, but you’ll generate plenty of heat)
-Sturdy shoes: skate/mtb shoes are best, followed by hiking boots, but sneakers are fine too. Stiff, grippy soles are the name of the game
-Gloves: for grip/protection, not warmth. Work gloves are best. I’ll have a few pairs to lend out, too
-(Optional) Glasses/sunglasses: helps keep mud/dirt out of your eyes so you don’t get randomly blinded. I’ll have a couple pairs to lend out, too
-Water/snack
-Bike/Helmet if you have your own

Club Provides:
-Bike/Helmet if you need one

Everyone will be waitlisted to ensure we have enough bikes in the right sizes.
